    Anambra 2025: Ganduje Tasks Anambrarians On Peaceful Primaries, State Development As Group Demands Credible Primaries

    National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullah Umar Ganduje has charged members of the party from Anambra state to use their wealth for the conduct of a peaceful Primaries and development of the state even as he called for a consensus candidate as they gear towards governorship election on November 8, 2025, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC).

    The APC National Chairman while describing Anambra state as a state blessed with wealthy people also said, “Anambra is a peaceful state, elections are conducted in the state without crises.
    The people are very rich but our party pleads with our members to use their money and organize a peaceful Primaries, develop the state not to destabilize the party or destroy the state”.

    The call for consensus came as the APC seeks to consolidate its position in Anambra State and present a strong candidate for the governorship race which be said will strengthen the party unity and ensure victory in the upcoming polls.

    Dr. Ganduje made the appeal while hosting a support group, Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu, at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.

    He maintained that a consensus approach would foster cohesion within the party and enhance its chances of success in the election.

    Pledging to present an award to the Anambra chapter of the party if they successfully unite and produce a consensus candidate, the APC Chairman also urged aspirants vying for the ticket to channel their resources toward building the party in the state rather than engaging in divisive activities.

    “All of the aspirants are educated and wealthy. We have told them that this time around, business should not be as usual. Let us support the system. We know they are very rich and have a lot of money, but they should not use the money to scatter the state. They should use the money to develop the state,” Ganduje stated.

    He assured party members that his leadership would ensure a free, fair, and credible primary election in Anambra State.

    Speaking earlier, the National Coordinator of Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu, Mr. Iyke Madu, expressed confidence that a transparent primary election would unite all stakeholders. He urged the party leadership to adopt an indirect primary method, as provided for in the party’s constitution, to ensure a smooth and credible process.

    “If a credible primary election is conducted, and it is clear to everybody that the winner emerged through a credible process, we will all work together to ensure victory for the APC,” Madu said.

    He recalled the APC National Chairman’s promise to reintegrate the South East into the mainstream of Nigeria politics and governance and called on him to utilize the window created by the upcoming governorship election to actualize it

    He emphasized the need to begin with Anambra state in the party’s bid to reintegrate the South East into the mainstream of Nigeria politics and governance adding, “what is good for Edo is good for Anambra.”
