The All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, has officially scheduled its National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings for mid-December, as announced in a statement released on Wednesday.
The notice, signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, outlines the details of the gatherings, which are set to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The National Caucus meeting is slated for Monday, December 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC meeting will follow on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
In the statement, Bashiru emphasized the importance of the meetings in accordance with the party’s governing framework. “All members of the National Caucus are by this invitation to take notice of the meeting in accordance with Article 12.5 of the APC constitution,” he stated.

The events are expected to draw high-profile attendees, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas. Additionally, state governors and selected federal lawmakers elected under the APC banner will be in attendance, underscoring the meetings’ role in coordinating party strategy and national policy discussions.
These gatherings come at a time when the APC continues to navigate key political and economic challenges facing Nigeria, though the statement did not specify the agenda items. The National Caucus and NEC serve as critical forums for decision-making within the party, often addressing issues related to governance, elections, and internal affairs.
