The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of its electronic membership registration exercise to February 8, 2026, in response to appeals from party stakeholders. The decision, made during the party’s 183rd National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Friday, January 30, 2026, at its national secretariat in Abuja, aims to allow more supporters and members to register and validate their memberships.

In a press statement released by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party also revealed adjustments to its internal election timelines. Ward Congresses, originally planned earlier, will now take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The National Convention has been rescheduled for March 27-28, 2026.
Certain states have been exempted from the upcoming congresses. Osun State, Ekiti State, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded due to impending elections in those areas. Additionally, Rivers State will not participate because of the ongoing tenure of its current party executive committees.

The NWC also confirmed the formation of the National Convention Planning Committee to oversee preparations for the event. Further details on the revised congress and convention timetable, schedule of activities, and the committee’s composition are expected to be released soon.

Morka emphasized that these changes reflect the party’s commitment to inclusivity and ensuring broad participation in its processes. The APC, Nigeria’s ruling party, continues to focus on strengthening its membership base ahead of future electoral activities.
