The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has called on all Nigerians to live out the true meaning of Easter by upholding righteousness, caring for the vulnerable and working for national peace and transformation.
In an official Easter message, Bishop Oke described Easter as “the cornerstone of our Christian faith,” marking the death, burial and triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our redemption, shedding His precious blood for the salvation of mankind, and rising again for our justification,” the PFN leader said.
“Easter therefore is not merely an event we commemorate, but a reality we must live daily in righteousness, holiness, and unwavering faith in God.”
Bishop Oke urged citizens across the country to become “instruments of peace and transformation” by allowing the love of God to fill their hearts. He called for sacrificial living, care for the less privileged, and a firm stand for truth and justice.
“Let us demonstrate the essence of godly living… generally modeling Jesus Christ who went about doing good all his life,” he said.
The cleric also issued a direct challenge to those in positions of authority, describing leadership as “a sacred trust” that must be exercised with the fear of God, integrity and commitment to the common good.
“We urge all those holding positions of authority over this nation to redouble their efforts in ensuring that the peace, security, and welfare of all Nigerians remain first and foremost in their minds and public agenda,” Bishop Oke stated.
He concluded the message with prayers for divine intervention in the affairs of the nation.
“We pray that His peace shall reign across our land, and that His grace shall continue to guide our nation into greater unity, stability, and prosperity,” he said. “God bless you, and God bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The statement comes as Christians across Nigeria and the world celebrate Easter Sunday, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The PFN is one of the largest umbrella bodies for Pentecostal churches in the country, representing millions of believers.
