Many commuters heading towards the Island for work or trade on the Ojota- Oworonsoki Expressway were stranded on Friday morning following the collapse of the popular Alapere Estate Overhead Bridge.
The collapsed, expectedly, caused serious traffic gridlock as hundreds of people struggled to find their way out of it.
The bridged reportedly came down when an articulate truck conveying a container along the Ojota -Oworonsoki Highway in the wee hours of Friday rammed into it.
The container was said to have hit the bridge on one side bringing it down completely.
The development instantly caused a traffic build up that soon affected flow of traffic.
As at the time of filing this report, officials of the Lagos State Transport Management Agency led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Sola Giwa, have however, cleared the debris to allow for free flow of traffic.
