…Says it’s misinformation, fake news by opposition propagandists

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement dismissing rumour from peddlers of fake news by opposition parties in the state that Dr. Asue Ighodalo’s candidature for the 2024 elections has been nullified.

According to a press statement signed by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the Edo State Chapter of the PDP, and made available to GrandNews Online, the party said it was aware that certain elements are spreading false information about Dr. Ighodalo’s candidature as having been nullified.

The statement clarified that the Federal High Court’s judgment in Abuja did not affect Dr. Ighodalo’s status as the party’s flag bearer.

The party, however, urged its supporters to remain calm and resolute, stating that Dr. Ighodalo’s candidature remains intact.

The PDP also warned that the rumours are being peddled by elements scared of Dr. Ighodalo’s soaring popularity.

With this statement, the PDP has put to rest speculations about Dr. Ighodalo’s candidature, and it’s now clear that he remains the party’s flag bearer for the 2024 elections.

    The full statement reads:

The PDP is aware that certain elements who are scared of the soaring popularity of our candidate Dr Asue Ighodalo are going about peddling rumors that the candidature of Dr Asue Ighodalo has been nullified.

Let it be on record that the candidature of Dr Asue Ighodalo as the flag bearer of the party for the 2024 elections remains intact and that the judgement of the Federal High court in Abuja did not in any way affect the candidature of Dr Asue Ighodalo

We urge our teaming loyal supporters to remain calm and resolute as there is no cause for alarm.
