    ….Endorses Ighodalo for governor

    Dr Osafure

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, a medical doctor of Edo State extraction working and resident in Lagos, Dr. Oronsaye Monday Osafure, has warned voters to open their eyes and choose the best because elections have consequences.

Dr Osafure, who endorsed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Asue Ighodalo, as the best man for the job in a brief chat with our Correspondent said “My advice to Edo people is simple. Open your eyes, look at the choices before you and vote wisely. Elections have consequences.”

He described his choice for governor as being head and shoulders above the rest. “As for me, Dr. Asue Ighodalo is head and shoulders above the rest.”
Dr Osafure argued that the governor Edo state needs must be well educated, has a good track record of private business success and sound integrity.

” For me, the irreducible qualities for governorship of a state like Edo is sound education, success in the private sector and visible evidence of probity and integrity.”

He faulted the claims of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, that he doesn’t need a manifesto to govern Edo State. Dr Osafure described the claim as “standing logic on its head”. He chided Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Okpebholo for disrespecting the people of Edo State by that singular suggestion.

Hear him: “Senator Monday Okpebholo is standing logic on its head. How can a doctor operate on a patient without diagnosis of the disease? You open up a patient and start looking for the ailment? Oshiomhole and the senator do not have any respect for the Edo people. You want to be the governor of a very educated people but can’t show workings on how you will get results. What a joke!”

Dr Osafure cautioned anyone who is planning to employ the instrument of violence and intimidation to emerge as governor of Edo State to have a rethink, saying Edo is not Lagos. He pleaded that what is taking place on September 21 is an election and not war and that people should see it as such.

“Those who wish to use violence to force their way into Osadebe House may not have a smooth ride. Edo is not Lagos. Those who detest peaceful change should not enter Edo state. It is an election not war,” he cautioned.
