The Edo State Government has announced a comprehensive restructuring of the State Ministries as approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo, bringing the total number of Ministries in the State to twenty-eight (28).
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, the reform is designed to reflect the administrative structure at the Federal level and ensure seamless alignment between Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Ikhilor stated that the restructuring is part of the Governor’s broader strategy to strengthen governance, enhance administrative efficiency, and ensure effective service delivery across critical sectors.
“This strategic reform aims to enhance administrative efficiency, improve coordination across key sectors, and strengthen the capacity of Government to deliver effectively on its mandate to the people of Edo State,” the statement noted.
As part of the reorganization, new Ministries have been created while some previously defunct ones have been revived. Below is the approved list of Ministries and the Commissioners appointed to head them:

Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to good governance, economic transformation, institutional efficiency, and inclusive development, pledging that the restructuring will drive faster implementation of government policies and programmes.
“This administration remains steadfast in its commitment to deliver practical governance that aligns with both the SHINE and Renewed Hope Agendas,” the statement added.
