The Edo State Sports Commission has paid a solidarity visit to former Bendel Insurance player and ex-Nigeria international, Coach Kadiri Ikhana, who is receiving treatment at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua.

Following reports of his deteriorating health, the Chairman of the commission, Hon. Desmond Amadin Enabulele, sent a delegation led by the Executive Director, Edo North, Hon. Frank Ilaboya, to visit the veteran coach on Monday.

Coach Ikhana, who expressed gratitude for the visit, described it as a morale booster that would aid his recovery.

“This gesture will aid my quick recovery process. I am grateful for what you have done. I feel better and think I am good enough to leave here tomorrow,” he said.

He commended Hon. Enabulele for his leadership and prayed for his success in steering the commission to greater heights.

He also wished Bendel Insurance FC success in the upcoming 2025/26 football season.

The delegation included Hon. Osaro Jeffrey, Coordinator of Bendel Insurance FC, and Faith Ojeaga, a member of the Edo State Football Association Board representing Edo Central.

Coach Ikhana’s health condition recently drew public concern after former Nigeria international, Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, appealed to the government and football stakeholders to support him.
