The Edo State Ministry of Works has officially welcomed its new Commissioner, Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, following his swearing-in by the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

Upon assumption of office, Dr. Akhabue held a strategic meeting with directors and senior officials of the ministry to foster collaboration and align the ministry’s operations with the developmental vision of the state government.

In his address, the Honourable Commissioner reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Governor Okpebholo to building a more efficient and result-oriented Ministry of Works. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, noting that every kobo spent on infrastructure projects must translate into tangible value for the people of Edo State.

Dr. Akhabue also listened to the challenges and operational bottlenecks presented by the ministry’s management staff and assured that they would be resolved in line with the Governor’s SHINE Agenda—a holistic framework designed to drive sustainable infrastructure and inclusive development across the state.

Responding on behalf of the staff, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Engr. John Obanor, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for his inspiring words and proactive leadership, describing his assurances as a morale booster for the ministry’s workforce.

The engagement, according to stakeholders, signals the beginning of a new era of purposeful leadership and result-driven governance in the Edo State Ministry of Works.
