World acclaimed richest man and Tech billionaire, Elon Musk, has publicly expressed regret and contrition over a series of social media posts he made about US President Donald Trump last week, as their once chummy relationship quickly turned sour.
In a post on his X platform, formerly known as Twitter, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO acknowledged he had gone too far in the course of the hot online exchange with the POTUS.
“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on Wednesday.
The face-off marks a stunning rupture in what had been a powerful political and business alliance. Musk and Trump had maintained a strong working relationship, particularly during Trump’s second term, when Musk was tapped to lead the Department of Government Efficiency—an office central to the administration’s sweeping cost-cutting and deregulation agenda.
Their partnership had not only elevated Musk’s political influence but also reinforced investor confidence in his companies, Tesla and SpaceX, both of which benefited from favorable federal policies and high-level access. However, tensions spilled into public view last week as Musk lashed out at Trump over what insiders described as “fundamental differences” in policy direction and leadership style.
