The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has described the appointment of Moses Opuamowei Aduku as Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, as a reflection of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s dedication to sports development, particularly in women’s football.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his media aide, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele credited the governor’s consistent support for Edo Queens FC as a key factor in Aduku’s rise to the national stage.

“Governor Okpebholo’s unwavering backing of Edo Queens continues to yield remarkable outcomes. Aduku’s appointment is further evidence of his passion for advancing women’s football in Nigeria,” Enabulele said.

He noted that the governor’s impact in office has already produced tangible results, citing Miracle Usani’s recent Super Falcons call-up and Aduku’s national elevation as clear milestones.

Enabulele described Aduku’s appointment as well-earned, praising his technical acumen and leadership.

He highlighted Aduku’s achievements with Edo Queens, including winning the Nigeria Women’s Football League title in May 2024 and clinching the WAFU Zone B Championship.

He also recalled Aduku’s prior experience as assistant coach of the Falconets during their quarter-final run at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

“Aduku is known for his tactical discipline and result-oriented approach. He brings valuable experience to the Falconets, and I am confident he will succeed,” Enabulele added.

He further lauded the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and its president, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, for recognizing Aduku’s contributions to the game.

“I commend the NFF for this excellent decision. Coach Aduku’s winning mentality and proven record make him the right man for the job,” he said.
