Former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, has firmly denied recent rumours suggesting he has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released to the public on Sunday, Otuaro described the claims as false, misleading, and baseless, stressing that his commitment to the PDP remains steadfast.
Otuaro, who is the immediate past deputy governor of Delta State, said he had no reason to dump a party that gave him the platform to become a deputy governor of a state like Delta.
âI wish to state clearly and unequivocally that such claims are false, baseless, and should be disregarded in their entirety,â he said.
He added, âI remain a bona fide and committed member of the PDP, a party under whose platform I was duly elected and served meritoriously as Deputy Governor of Delta State.â
Otuaro reaffirmed his belief in the core values and vision of the PDP, describing it as the party that aligns with his political ideology and one that continues to serve the interests of the people.
âMy faith in the ideals, vision, and guiding principles of the PDP remains strong and unshaken. The PDP has been, and continues to be, the party of choice for me,â he added.
He urged party members, political allies, and supporters to ignore the rumors, which he described as an attempt to create unnecessary tension and division within the party.
Otuaro called on PDP members to focus on unity and progress, emphasizing the need to consolidate on the partyâs achievements and uphold its legacy as a strong and inclusive political platform.
âThe task before us as members of the PDP is to strengthen our great party, consolidate on our achievements, and continue to uphold the values that have kept the PDP as a formidable political family,â he stated.
