Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the September 21, 2024, governorship election in Edo State, has extended warm Father’s Day greetings to fathers across Edo State and Nigeria at large. He extolled their vital role in shaping families and communities, describing fathers as indispensable pillars in the upbringing of future leaders.

In a message personally signed on Sunday in Benin City, Ighodalo highlighted the pivotal role of fathers in every home, shaping the leaders of tomorrow as well as the profound influence they wield in society.

    His message reads:

“My dear good people of Edo State,

“On this special occasion of Father’s Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all fatherus, father figures, and the remarkable men who play pivotal roles in the lives of our families and communities.

“Today, we celebrate not just the biological bond of fatherhood, but the far-reaching impact of responsible, nurturing, and loving men on the fabric of our society.

“Fathers are the bedrock of our families, providing guidance, strength, and support. Your role goes beyond provision; you are mentors, role models, and the architects of our children’s future.

“In a world that constantly tests our values and principles, your steadfast commitment to raising responsible, compassionate, and resilient individuals is more vital than ever. The lessons you teach today will shape the leaders of tomorrow.

“As we reflect on the importance of fatherhood, let us remember that our influence extends far beyond the home. The love, discipline, and wisdom you instill in your children will echo through generations. Embrace this responsibility with pride, knowing that the future of Edo State—and indeed, our nation—depends in no small measure on how we raise our youth.

“I encourage you to remain the pillars of strength and sources of inspiration our families need. Be present, listen actively, and lead by example. Instill in your children the values of integrity, respect, and hard work.

“Together, let us build a stronger, brighter future for Edo State—one where our children thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing fathers in Edo State. Your efforts are deeply appreciated, and your legacy will endure.

    “Warm regards,
    Dr. Asue Ighodalo”
