    Ighodalo, Others Headline 13-Member PDP National Convention Screening Committee

    The National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the formation of the National Convention Screening Committee to oversee the screening of aspirants for national offices ahead of the 2025 PDP Elective National Convention. The convention is scheduled to take place from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

    Chairman, NCOC and Executive Governor of Adamawa State,
    the committee, chaired by Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, with Hon. Mohammed L.S. Diri, SAN, as Deputy Chairman, includes prominent party figures such as Dr Asue Ighodalo, Esq., who will serve as Secretary, and Barr. Jacob Otorkpa as Deputy Secretary.

    Other members of the 13-person committee include Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN; H.E. Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Chief Mrs. Aduke Maina; Iyom Josephine Anenih; H.E. Achike Udenwa; Haj. Maryam Inna Ciroma; HM. Felix Hassan Hyat; HM. Zainab Maina; and Chinedu Nwachukwu, who will also act as Administrative Secretary.

    The screening exercise, set for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, is a critical step in ensuring that all aspirants meet the party’s requirements for the upcoming national convention.

    The NCOC, led by H.E. Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Executive Governor of Adamawa State, expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to carry out its duties with integrity and adherence to the party’s rules and regulations.
    “The NCOC expects exemplary conduct and strict compliance with guidelines during this crucial assignment, reflecting the trust placed in the committee members by the party,” Governor Fintiri stated in the press release.

    The PDP’s 2025 National Convention is anticipated to be a pivotal event as the party prepares to select its national leadership, setting the stage for its strategy ahead of future elections.
