Nigerian controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, more popularly called Portable, has finally surrendered to the Lagos State Police Command days after he was declared wanted.
Portable presented himself at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba, Lagos on Wednesday.
Following his surrender, Portable is now being escorted to Ogun State, where he will be transferred into the custody of the local police.
The singer had claimed on Tuesday that he was undergoing treatment for mental health challenges at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, and even referred to himself as a “madman”.
The singer’s claim of being a “madman” was part of a plea for leniency, directed at both the Nigerian public and the Ogun State Government, after he was officially declared wanted by the police.
It was alleged that Portable had physically assaulted three staff members from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, specifically from the Ota Zonal Office.
