Chairman of Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, has regained his freedom from his abductors after spending four days in their den.
He was abducted around Ogere on Lagos/Ibadan Expressway while returning from Ibadan to Lagos after a PDP South-West Zonal meeting.
The State Publicity Secretary, Mr Hakeem Amode, confirmed Aivoji’s release in a statement around 1:15am on Monday.
Aivoji was released about 11pm on Sunday night and was taken to his home country in Badagry to reunite with his family.
“Hon Philip Olabode Aivoji, the Lagos State PDP Chairman is free at last after four days in the Kidnappers’ den.
“We use this opportunity to appreciate your prayers most importantly because God’s mercies were visible all the way.
“Thank You All for your concerns and prayers”, said Amode.
The abductors had earlier contacted his family, demanding for a N200m ransom.
