It was more Woes for the Edo State chapter of the Labour Party as Barrister Friday Ibadin, the Senatorial Leader of the party in Edo Central, led party leaders from the five Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the district to throw their weight behind Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming gubernatorial election in Edo State.

The endorsement marks a notable shift in political alliance within the state.

Justifying their decision, Barrister Ibadin highlighted Dr. Ighodalo’s track record of service and his commitment to the welfare of the people. He praised the PDP candidate’s vision for the state and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Edo to greater heights.

“The decision to endorse Dr. Asue Ighodalo stems from our belief in his capacity to deliver on his promises and steer our dear state towards prosperity,” Barrister Ibadin said.

The endorsement by the Labour Party’s Senatorial Leader has further boosted the support for Dr. Ighodalo’s candidacy, particularly in Edo Central, where the Labour Party has a considerable following.

Responding to the endorsement, Dr. Asue Ighodalo expressed gratitude to Barr Ibadin and the leaders of the Labour Party for their support. He reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance and pledged to work tirelessly for the development of Edo State.
