The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief (Dr.) Samuel Ogbuku, has distanced himself from media reports falsely attributing rumours of his alleged arrest to Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
In a statement on Friday by his Special Assistant Media, Dr.Willie Etim, Ogbuku denounced the reports as baseless and inflammatory.
He stressed that no political discord exists between himself and the governor.
The report had suggested a political rift between Ogbuku and the governor.
“There is no rivalry within the APC family in Bayelsa State,” the statement read, stressing that individual opinions on local politics do not reflect Ogbuku’s views or positions.
It described efforts to connect Diri to the alleged arrest rumours or other controversies as “misleading, mischievous, and unnecessary.”
Ogbuku extended apologies to the governor for any embarrassment caused by the publications and called on APC members and the public to avoid statements that could distort facts or fuel tension.
