    Assures Deltans of fulfilling his electoral promises

    The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured Deltans that his administration would continually fulfil its promises to them for the duration of the administration. He made this statement at The New Telegraph 2024 Awards which was held at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos State.

    The Governor, represented by his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, received the award for infrastructural development under the Governor of the year category, solicited the continuous support and trust of Deltans, as he stressed the commitment of the Oborevwori administration to give Deltans MORE.

    He disclosed that the administration had not borrowed a dime, yet has either completed or nearly completed most of the projects that were handed over by the previous administration and have begun new projects, ensuring that development cuts across every sector of the State.

    The Governor, who attended the event in the company of some of his commissioners, expressed gratitude to the management of The New Telegraph for recognising the endeavours of the administration, stating that it would help to boost confidence of the administration.

    The Deputy Director, Delta State Liaision Office, Lagos State, Felix Okade, standing in for the Director, Ms. Maureen Osodi, mirroring the expression of the rest of the staff at the awards, stated that this award brings a renewed hope that the future is bright. In his words, “it feels great to have your governor represent his state so well that he is being recognised beyond the boundaries of the state. It means his impact is going global.”

    The Managing Director of The New Telegraph, Ayodele Aminu, said he was happy that all the hard work of putting together the awards paid off, given the economic situation of the country. He opined that a lot of people in the public and private sector are doing well and deserved to be recognised and celebrated.

    Referring to the award given to Governor Oborevwori and the criterion for awarding him, he said: “it is not how long, but how well,” reiterating that the awardees had done well.

    Other Awardees of Delta descent included Olori Atuwatse iii, wife of the Olu of Warri, Dr Ernest Azudialu-Obiejesi, Dr Chukwuma Agbasi, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, among others.
