The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun (Barr) Jaro Movudu Egbo Ksc, on Wednesday convened meeting of leaders and other critical stakeholders of Ofuoma community to enforce resolutions aimed at addressing the community’s leadership crisis as decided in a prior meeting on August 8, 2025.
The meeting aimed at ensuring compliance with key decisions, which include conducting elections in November 2025, forming an electoral committee, and withdrawing all legal cases against the incumbent President, Chief Godfrey Etabuko, by September 30, 2025.

Egbo emphasized the need for due process in appointing the electoral committee, announcing that the council and the state Ministry of Women Affairs will nominate representatives. He urged leaders to submit the approved committee list by September 25, 2025. It was also confirmed that all legal cases against Etabuko have been withdrawn. A follow-up meeting to inaugurate the committee was also announced.

The Chairman reiterated his earlier warnings against the illegal sale of government lands, particularly at Ofuoma Secondary School and the School of Health Sciences. He warned that the government would not hesitate to demolish any structures on such lands.

He also sought cooperation for the ongoing house numbering initiative, warning against interference. Egbo urged the community to maintain the peace and support the current leadership until its tenure ends.
