Newly sworn-in Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reportedly announced five new appointments shortly after taking the oath of office following the death of his former boss, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The Governor said in a statement issued on Wednesday that seasoned journalist, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan, has been appointed as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) while Sunday Abire will now serve as Special Assistant on New Media.
The statement signed by the State Deputy Chief of Staff, Olusegun Omojuwa, also announced the appointment of Smart Omodunbi as Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters.
Others are Motunrayo Oyedele, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Photography and Temitayo Iperepolu – Special Assistant to the Governor on Domestic Affairs and Government House.
Adeniyan, the new Chief Press Secretary, is a multiple-award-winning journalist, media consultant, author, unionist, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of TRACE News Magazine.
Before his new appointment, he was the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the immediate past Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye. All the appointments are with immediate effect.
Earlier in the afternoon, Aiyedatiwa had taken the oath of office as the Governor of Ondo state after being sworn in by the Chief Judge, Olusegun Odunsola following Akeredolu’s demise at a German hospital in the early hours of Wednesday due to prostate cancer.
