Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, on Monday night helped his Galatasaray side to secure a vital win over their city rival, Besiktas, in the Turkish Super Lig as he headed home a second goal to end the match 2-1 in favour of his team in the Istanbul Derby.
The 25-year-old continued his good run since he joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in the summer.
Gabriel Sara had sent a perfect cross in the 67th minute which found Osimhen’s head and he made no mistakes to double the hosts’ lead before Besiktas pulled one back in stoppage time.
The Nigeria international has now scored in three consecutive league games, following his fantastic bicycle-kick against Antalyaspor last weekend on his return from injury.
The victory saw Galatasaray consolidate their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig with 28 points from 10 matches, thus opening up a six-point gap ahead of second-placed Samsunspor, while Besiktas remain fourth with 20 points.
