Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an audacious transformational reformer and visioner.
In a goodwill message to mark the President’s 74th birthday, Omo-Agege said that Tinubu inherited an immense accumulation of wrong calls, policies and programmes that could have overwhelmed an ordinary leader.
“To the good fortune of Nigeria, President Tinubu is no ordinary leader. He knew what he was up against, he knew the way forward and did not wilt in the face of enormous challenges. He did not indulge in taking popular decisions that will earn him short term, but misplaced, applause. He knew very tough decisions needed to be taken”, Omo-Agege said in his goodwill message to the President.
“In making the landmark declaration on the cessation of fuel subsidy in his inaugural speech, the President exhibited amazing audacity, vision and boldness that confounded even his most ardent associates.
“Today, Nigerians now know better for it. His critics are overwhelmed and the international community has seen in the President a leader they can trust and do business with. After the initial challenges that came with the reforms, the trajectory has changed and Nigerians are grateful for the vision of Mr. President”, the former Deputy President of the Senate stated.
As Nigerians gear up for 2027 elections, Omo-Agege urged the people to rally round President Tinubu and elect him to a second term. “He needs a second term to complete the sterling job he started. We cannot trust a person who never shared in the vision and courage of the past nearly three years in Aso Rock.
“On behalf of my family and political associates, I heartily congratulate our dear President on his 74th birthday. I wish him more grace from the Almighty and excellent health to lead our country to greater heights”, Omo-Agege stated.
