Former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam, on Wednesday blamed the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb Umar Damagum, for the seemingly intractable crisis that has continued to plague the party, saying he has not provided the right leadership for the party.

Suswam said members of the PDP no longer believe in Damagum’s leadership.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, anchored by Seun Okinbaloye and monitored by our Correspondent in Lagos, the former governor faulted Damagum for reneging on his agreement with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Suswam declared that the PDP is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, but also expressed the hope that patients have been seen to come back from the intensive care unit and the PDP may just experience the same positive fate if the right things are done and quickly, too.

He said, “The acting chairman of the party has failed us, let’s call a spade a spade.”

Asked if he was given the chance, what will he do, Suswam said, “I would have done far better because I wouldn’t engage in an agreement with the Minister of the FCT and reneged on it.
