The National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention, originally slated for Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The decision, attributed to unforeseen circumstances, was disclosed in a press statement signed by the NCOC Chairman and Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The statement did not specify the reasons for the delay but assured that a new date for the screening would be communicated soon. The NCOC expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and urged aspirants and party members to take note of the development.

Despite the postponement, the NCOC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a credible and seamless 2025 Elective National Convention, scheduled to hold from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The PDP, one of Nigeria’s leading political parties, is preparing for its national convention to elect new leadership that will set the stage for its activities ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party has called on its members to remain patient and cooperative as preparations continue.
