Rivers State’s Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Professor Zacchaeus Adangor, has resigned his position.
Adangor informed Governor Similanayi Fubara in his resignation letter dated December 14, 2023, that he chose not to serve in the government any longer out of personal conviction.
Adangor was a member of Nyesom Wike’s government, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Adangor expressed gratitude to the governor for recognizing his suitability for the position.
The resignation comes on the heels of the demolition of the State House of Assembly by the Governor Fubara led administration and presentation of the 2024 budget to five pro-Fubara lawmakers led by Court recognized Speaker, Hon. Edison Ehie.
Adangor was Rivers AG for eight years under the administration of Nyesom Wike, who was governor from May 2015 to May 2023.
