Golfer Tiger Woods has revealed that he is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, the former daughter-in-law of US President Donald Trump.
Vanessa, 47, was married to Donald Trump Jr. for 13 years and the couple, who had five children, divorced in 2018.
On Sunday, Woods, 49, shared photos of himself with Vanessa on social media, captioning them: “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together.”
It is unknown what led to this public declaration, although rumours about their romance have circulated in gossip magazines recently.
Woods, who has clinched 15 major championships, is typically private about his personal affairs following the fallout from his marital infidelities and sex scandals, which negatively impacted his public image and career in the 2000s.
He sought treatment for sex addiction at a rehabilitation facility and soon after went through a contentious divorce from his first wife, Elin Nordegren, just months later after six years of marriage. They have two children together.
Reports from US media indicate that Tiger Woods’ children attend the same school as Vanessa Trump’s. As the ex-wife of Donald Trump’s eldest son, Vanessa frequently participated in official events involving Trump’s extended family during his first term in office.
In February, Woods was present at a meeting with Trump and leaders from the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) at the White House to discuss the future of golf tournaments and the ongoing division with the Saudi Arabia-based LIV league.
Woods was wearing his Presidential Medal of Freedom, which Trump awarded him in 2019 during the president’s first term.
