    Two Rescued From Collapsed Two-Storey Building In Lagos

    Two persons have been rescued from a collapsed building at Ikota, Lekki area of Lagos State which collapsed on Tuesday.

    The Lagos command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, confirmed the incidence in a statement on the rescue efforts.

    In the statement by the spokesperson of the NSCDC, Mr Oluwaseun Abolurin, in Lagos, the state commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, was said to have directed the disaster management and rescue operation team of Eti – Osa division to join others to carry out the rescue operations.

    “The command, on Tuesday, received a distress call from concerned residents that a two – storey building under construction collapsed over its workers at Ikota axis of Lekki.

    “The state commandant quickly deployed the disaster management, rescue and recovery team to support other first responders on the rescue mission.

    “The team was led by the Eti–Osa Divisional officer, Chief Superintendent of Corps, SC, Mr David Oyende.

    “The quick action was to enable the corps rescue many bodies alive and clinically evacuate bodies found dead.”

    Abolurin said that two persons had been rescued even as the operation was ongoing.
