Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has secured a groundbreaking partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through the signing of the Kaduna Mutual Accountability Framework (KaMAF) on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly. The agreement, signed by Governor Sani and Uche Amaonwu, the Foundation’s Country Director for Nigeria, marks a significant milestone in Kaduna’s development trajectory, establishing a comprehensive framework for collaboration and accountability.
This partnership, the first of its kind in nearly a decade of the Foundation’s engagement with Kaduna, shifts focus from promises to measurable outcomes. Building on the Kaduna State International Development Cooperation Framework, KaMAF aims to deliver transformative impact across critical sectors. It prioritizes strengthening primary healthcare, maternal and child health, and disease prevention, while promoting sustainable agricultural practices, enhanced productivity, and improved access to technology and markets.

The framework also emphasizes reliable data systems to guide policy decisions, transparent budgeting for fiscal responsibility, and inclusive economic empowerment, particularly for women, through digital and financial inclusion initiatives.
Governor Sani described the MoU as a testament to governance rooted in transparency and mutual responsibility, designed to uplift Kaduna’s communities. “This partnership lays the foundation for a more inclusive and resilient Kaduna, where progress is a lived reality for every citizen,” he stated. The collaboration underscores Kaduna’s strategic vision to attract global partnerships, showcasing its potential as a hub for sustainable development.

The agreement has been hailed as a bold step toward shared prosperity, aligning with Kaduna’s commitment to delivering measurable results. As the state embarks on this transformative journey, the partnership with the Gates Foundation signals a new era of accountability and progress for Kaduna’s people.
