The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State, Stanley Okoro Emegha, has urged eligible voters across the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Emegha made the call on Monday shortly after an APC meeting in Abakaliki, the state capital, stressing the importance of voter participation in the electoral process.
He described the PVC as an essential requirement for eligible citizens to exercise their franchise, urging those who were yet to collect their cards to take advantage of the ongoing distribution exercise.
According to him, eligible voters should not wait until the last minute before collecting their cards, noting that early collection would help them prepare adequately for the forthcoming elections.
Explaining the purpose of the meeting, the APC chairman said he brought together party executives and candidates to familiarize them with relevant information concerning the 2027 general elections.
He added that the meeting also provided an opportunity for the party’s flag bearers to interact with the newly sworn-in local government council chairmen, with a view to strengthening engagement among party stakeholders.
In a separate interview, the senator representing Ebonyi North Onyekachi Nwebonyi, attributed the party’s growing political presence in the state to the leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Nwebonyi maintained that the governor had delivered on the mandate entrusted to his administration by the people, expressing confidence in the prospects of APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Similarly, the APC candidate for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency, Joseph Ekumankama, expressed optimism about his electoral prospects, describing the APC as a major political force in his constituency.
The call for PVC collection comes as political parties and candidates prepare for the 2027 general elections. Eligible voters are encouraged to confirm the collection arrangements announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission and ensure that they have the necessary voter documentation ahead of election day.
