Ahead of the September governorship election in Edo State, a youth-centric socio-political group, the Afamai Youth Movement, has thrown its weight behind the candidacy of Dr Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The group, a vibrant youth oriented organization in Etsako West, dedicated to the promotion and safeguarding of the interests and mandates of Afamai grassroots voters, at a well attended meeting on Saturday, proudly affirmed its endorsement of Ighodalo.

In a resounding show of unity and support, President of the youth body, General Shake Musa, a.k.a Caesar, said in a statement that, ” Afamai Youth Movement has unanimously declared its full backing for Dr. Asue Ighodalo’s aspiration with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm.”

He reiterated the organization’s willingness to support Ighodalo 100 percent as he embarks on his journey towards the Edo State House in the election holding in September this year.

He emphasised that, “AYM recognizes Dr. Asue Ighodalo’s vision, leadership qualities, and dedication to serving the people of Edo State. His unwavering commitment to progress and development of the state aligns perfectly with the values and aspirations of our organization.

“As we stand united in our support for Dr. Asue Ighodalo, we urge all members of the Afamai grassroots communities to join us in delivering the Edo of our dream by supporting his candidacy. Together, we can work towards a brighter future for our community under the leadership of Dr. Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie Esq,” he said.

Responding, Ighodalo expressed gratitude to the leadership of AYM and members for their support for his aspiration. He assured them of his readiness to build not just the Edo of their dream, but an Edo State that works for all and that guarantees shared prosperity for all and sundry.
