ARISE News has announced the immediate ban of Anthony Kila, a freelance political analyst who has appeared several times on its platform. This follows allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.
The news channel disclosed this in a disclaimer issued by its Editorial Board, citing a damning investigative report by Premium Times Newspapers on Kila’s academic qualifications.

According to ARISE News, it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to seek his response to the allegations but had yet to receive a response 10 days later.

It added that Kila had not responded within the 10-day period, while noting that the allegations had become more serious.

“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to The ARISE News Channel is no longer tenable,” the channel stated.

ARISE News further clarified that it was unaware of the allegations when Kila appeared on its platform as a political analyst.
The organisation said its decision was informed by its commitment to credibility and integrity, stressing that it took such matters extremely seriously.

“ARISE News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform and as we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously, we have noted the findings of the Premium Times investigation,” the statement added.

The channel consequently announced that Kila would no longer appear on its network, either now or in the future.
“Mr Kila will not be appearing on our networks at anytime now or the future — effective immediately,” the statement declared.
The disclaimer was signed by the ARISE News Editorial Board.
The allegations against Kila have drawn attention following the Premium Times investigation, which examined claims concerning his academic qualifications.
ARISE News did not provide further details of the investigation in its disclaimer.
