Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State on Saturday visited the scene of the Jattu Market tragedy and also those recuperating in various hospitals. The visit was for him to make a personal on-the-spot assessment.
Some traders said to be as many as 15 were reportedly killed and scores injured by falling trees during a violent storm in the towns market.
Ighodalo, who was accompanied by Hon. Marvelous Muhizu Zibiri, the Executive Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Council, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and the devastation experienced at the market, particularly, the many who suffered injuries and are now hospitalized.
During his visit to various hospitals to meet with the victims, Dr. Ighodalo offered his condolences to the families who lost loved ones. He pledged his unwavering commitment to cover the medical expenses for the victims still receiving care.
