… Media aide visits UK support group
The popularity and acceptance of Dr Asue Ighodalo, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State is spreading like wild harmattan fire among the Edo Diaspora.
This is as Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray, a seasoned media entrepreneur, vice chairman and spokesperson for the Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO), went on an evaluative political tour of all diaspora PDP support campaigners.
Okpebholo recently paid a courtesy visit to members of the IGHODALO/OGIE 2024 led by Dr Peter Uwaibi.
In his message delivered to the overwhelming supporters, Ray Okpebholo spoke extensively about the invaluable gains of voting for Ighodalo in the upcoming governorship elections.
He emphasized that an IGHODALO/OGIE combination will ensure the continuity of the developmental program already institutionalised by the Godwin Obaseki Administration for Edo people.
While preaching unity among all the support groups, the PDP chieftain and British trained journalist, further encouraged the diaspora support groups for Ighodalo to work together in harmony and reassured the London diaspora group that the Ighodalo/Ogie government will prioritize inclusiveness, security and unity in Edo State to encourage the participation of diaspora citizens in the development of their state.
Responding, Dr. Peter Uwaibi, diaspora group leader, thanked Okpebholo for his ceaseless and enduring campaign commitment across the diaspora.
Dr. Uwaibi affirmed that the diaspora communities are fully ready to work together with the campaign team in molecular cohesion to deliver Ighodalo in September.
Hon. Henry Edeko, a decorated campaign publicist, pledged his continued support for the Ighodalo/Ogie winning combination.
Also speaking, Chief Ubaka Achebe of the widely celebrated Chinua Achebe family stressed the importance of the unrelenting need for continuous sensitization of both rural and urban communities to come out in their huge numbers to cast their vote for Ighodalo/Ogie PDP.
Chief Achebe said though he is from Anambra state, his wife is from Edo State and more than half of his investments in Nigeria are situated in Edo state, hence his interest for the best for Edo State, asserting that Asue Ighodalo is certainly the best for the state.
Dr. Uwaibi, in conclusion, praised the unrelenting progressive activism of the Ighodalo support movement.
Uwaibi rallied the crowd, stating that though present national living conditions are so bad and unbearable, seemingly bereft of any progression, yet we must continue to hinge our collective hope on the phenomenal growth potentials of Dr. Barrister Asue Ighodalo.
