The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has sent warm greetings to all mothers in Edo State and the nation at large as they celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day.

In a statement by his media team in Benin City on Sunday, Ighodalo extolled the virtues of perseverance and dedication often exhibited by mothers.

While expressing gratitude to the mothers for all they do and endure just to make others comfortable, Ighodalo promised to ensure gender inclusiveness in the administration of the state if he wins the coming election to lead the state.

    The full statement reads:

“On this occasion of Mother’s Day, I extend my warm greetings to our amazing mothers in Edo State and the nation as a whole.

“Today, we celebrate and honour your unwavering dedication, perseverance, and selflessness in building homes and communities. Your contributions are immeasurable and well noted. You are pillars of strength, love, and care, and we are eternally grateful for all that you do. Sometimes, I just wonder what could have been our fate without you in our lives.

“We are aware of the immense challenges you face. We are committed to supporting you in your endeavours, providing resources and opportunities to help you thrive. We will ensure Inclusiveness in all we do because we believe in your potential and will stop at nothing to empower you to achieve even more.

“And as we move forward in our bid to make our state a place we all can be proud of; the Edo State of our dream, where development and prosperity is experienced and not a mere wish, we urge you to double your commitment and support for our vision. Let us make it a reality.

“Thank you for being such inspiration and our guiding light. We are proud of you and happy to work alongside you for a better society.”

Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 12 every year.
