NDC Dismisses Circulating Primary Election Results As Fake, Schedules NEC Meeting For Official Announcement

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged Nigerians to disregard various results currently circulating on social media claiming to be the outcome of the party’s nationwide primaries held on May 28 and 29, 2026.

In a strongly worded press statement, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq., said the authentic results of the primaries are currently in the custody of the National Executive Council (NEC), which alone has the authority to announce them.

Director disclosed that the National Leader of the party, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson, has directed the convening of a NEC meeting to deliberate on the primaries. A pre-NEC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Abuja, while the main NEC meeting will hold on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The party promised that the general public and stakeholders would be officially briefed on the results once the list of candidates is forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).The statement comes amid concerns over misinformation on social media platforms following the conclusion of the NDC’s primaries.

The general public is hereby urged to disregard the various results circulating on social media as the outcome of the nation wide primaries conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC on the 28th and 29th of May, 2026.The results of the primaries are with the National Executive Council, NEC of our great party. They are solely responsible for announcements of results.

On the order of the National Leader of our party, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson, a NEC meeting of the party has been called. Therefore, all members of NEC are to arrive at Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting on Tuesday, 2nd of June while the NEC meeting will be held on Wednesday, 3rd of June, 2026.

The general public and stakeholders will be availed of the results of our primaries when we send the list of candidates to fly our party’s flag to the INEC
