The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement has unveiled a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The council, announced on Thursday, comprises zonal and state coordinators as well as directors responsible for mobilisation, women affairs, strategy and planning, security, legal affairs, information technology, administration and other areas.
The movement is a political platform mobilising support for the joint presidential ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
John Ughulu, the movement’s Director-General, was named Director-General of the campaign council, while its National Secretary, Saadatu Sani, is also part of the campaign leadership.
The structure announced by the movement covers the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory, with coordinators designated for the 36 states. The six zonal coordinators are Suleiman Abubakar for the North-Central, Hashimu Dungurawa for the North-West, Amadu Gwambe for the North-East, Adebayo Adefolaseye for the South-West, Christopher Ighodaro for the South-South and El-Shaddai Ikeh for the South-East.
Other members include Sabo Gashua, Director of Grassroots Mobilisation; Glory Adayi, Director of Women Affairs; Kabir Yahaya, Director of Contact and Engagement; Abdumumini Tijjani, Director of Mobilisation; and Yusuf Mani, Director of Special Duties.
Peace Daful was appointed Director of Procurement, while Charles Nwekeaku was named Director of South-Eastern Town Hall and Sunmisola Adebayo, Director of Information Technology.
Kingdom Okere will oversee Legal Affairs, Abiodun Dabiri will handle Strategy and Planning, while retired CSP Richard Enemona was appointed Director of Security and Intelligence. Aisha Abdulrahaman was named Director of Administration.
In a message to the newly appointed members, Sani described their selection as a call to duty, sacrifice, leadership and service, charging them to take the movement’s message from the cities to local governments, wards and communities across the country.
She said the movement was driven by a broader national vision and urged members to approach the assignment with discipline, humility, courage, strategic thinking and effective communication.
The unveiling comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections. The movement had earlier stated that it would retain its independent organisational structure rather than merge with another political organisation.
