The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, has distributed 5,000 bags of fertiliser, rice seedlings and ₦50 million in financial support to farmers and other beneficiaries across his constituency in a bid to enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen food security in Ebonyi State.
The empowerment programme, held at Ohatekwe Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area, attracted farmers, traditional rulers, political leaders, party supporters and other stakeholders from across the constituency.
Addressing participants, Ogah said the intervention was designed to complement the food security initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the agricultural development programmes of Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, under the People’s Charter of Needs.
According to the lawmaker, the distribution of fertiliser, rice seedlings and financial support would boost farming activities, improve the livelihoods of rural dwellers and increase food production across Ikwo and Ezza South communities.
“This intervention is aimed at complementing the food security initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the agricultural development agenda of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. Agriculture remains a critical sector for economic growth and poverty reduction,” Ogah said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing people-centred programmes that would directly improve the lives of his constituents, noting that investments in agriculture remain one of the most effective ways to tackle unemployment, poverty and food shortages.

Ogah also attributed his achievements in office to the support and leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru, assuring both leaders of the continued loyalty of the people of Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency.
“We will continue to support the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru, and our constituency will deliver overwhelming support to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections,” he stated.
Speaking on behalf of the Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, Hon. Chinedu Alphonsus Nwali described Ogah as a worthy ambassador of the party, saying his consistent empowerment programmes, scholarships and constituency projects had strengthened public confidence in the APC. Other stakeholders, including representatives of the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, also commended the federal lawmaker’s developmental strides and urged constituents to sustain their support for him.
The event ended with beneficiaries expressing appreciation for the intervention, describing it as a timely boost for farmers ahead of the farming season, while party leaders said the programme reflected the APC’s commitment to food security, economic empowerment and inclusive grassroots development.
