PFN Mourns The Passing Of Rev Okoye

The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke has announced with profound sorrow the passing of one of the esteemed fathers in the faith in Nigeria, Rev. Dr William Okoye, the Founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM), and a National Advisory Council member of the Fellowship.

In a statement made available to the Press by the Media Bureau of the Fellowship on Friday, the National President described Rev. Dr William Okoye as a devoted servant of God, an exemplary church leader, and a respected Statesman whose ministry impacted countless lives across Nigeria and beyond.

“He was a bridge builder, a man of peace and conflict resolution. He founded the All Christians Fellowship Mission over 50 years ago, which stands as one of the earliest Pentecostal Churches in the nation’s capital, and served as the General Overseer until his call to Heaven.”

The Bishop said through Rev.Okoye’s unwavering commitment to the preaching of the Gospel, discipleship, and national transformation, he left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

The Bishop further said, “PFN acknowledges his invaluable contributions to the growth of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria and his unwavering support for Christian unity, righteousness, and godly leadership. His life was a shining testimony of faithfulness, humility, integrity, and sacrificial service to God and humanity.

“Apart from his evangelistic and church- planting ministries, Dr Okoye served the nation in other capacities. He was the Chaplain to two past Presidents of Nigeria, President Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan, among other National services.

“He served the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria as a leading Member of the National Advisory Council. He served the larger body of Christ through his leadership roles in the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), at both local and National levels, as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chairman and in the Directorate of National Affairs”.

Dr William Okoye was the first Chairman of the PFN for the Federal Capital Territory in the early eighties.
“Rev Dr William Okoye has left us and gone to heaven! A titan has gone home. The eagle has landed in glory. A champion of truth and righteousness has left the earth for the house of his heavenly Father.
“On behalf of the Founding Fathers, the National Advisory Council, the National Executive Council of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the entire PFN family across the nation, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr Okoye’s family, the leadership and members of All Christians Fellowship Mission, and the entire Body of Christ.
“We pray that the God of all comfort will strengthen and uphold everyone grieving this great loss. Though we mourn his departure, we rejoice in the assurance that he has finished his earthly race faithfully and has entered into the eternal presence of our Lord.May his remarkable legacy continue to inspire the Church to greater dedication to the cause of Christ.”

Dr William Okoye was survived by a loving wife who cared for him till the very end, his five surviving children, who are champions in their different callings and a thriving church that is impacting the nation and the world. The final funeral arrangements for Dr Okoye shall be announced by his family and his church very soon.
