Bishop Wale Oke At 70: Pentecostal Leaders, Church Members, Well-Wishers Set For Two-Day Celebration

The Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries and the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, will mark his 70th birthday on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, with a thanksgiving service at the Cornerstone City in Ibadan.
In a statement by the Media Bureau of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, it was stated that the milestone celebration will climax a 10-day-long programme of activities, beginning with the annual Holy Ghost Convention of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, scheduled for Sunday, August 30 to Sunday, September 6, 2026.
The night of tributes will follow on Monday, September 7, ahead of the Thanksgiving Birthday service which will be held on Tuesday, September 8. All the events will be held at Cornerstone City, Kilometer 22, off the Ibadan/Lagos Expressway, Ibadan.
The celebrations are expected to attract Christian leaders, the Clergy, Government Leaders, members of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries home and abroad, family members, friends and well-wishers from across Nigeria and around the world.
The Statement reads further, “Bishop Oke is not only a prominent figure in Nigeria’s Pentecostal movement for decades, but he is also an educationist and an accomplished and globally recognized cleric, who is committed to preaching the undiluted Word of God as well as investing in developing a generation of Christian leaders. The occasion which will be more than celebrating the passing of figures, is expected to be used to celebrate the grace of God upon the life of Bishop Oke which has enabled him to advance the cause of the gospel with extraordinary passion, zeal and consistency with tangible and undeniable proofs abounding in Nigeria and all over the world”.
‘’the Holy Ghost Convention is an annual flagship programme of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, which will provide the opening platform for the 10-day-long celebration, bringing together people from all over the world for a period of worship, teaching, prayer and spiritual renewal’’.
He said further, ” the Night of Tributes on September 7 will provide an opportunity for family, friends, colleagues, church leaders and associates to celebrate Bishop Oke’s life, ministry and contributions to the Christian faith”.
” The 70th birthday thanksgiving service on September 8 will serve as the grand finale of the celebration and an occasion for the celebrant and all his loved ones to give thanks to God for seven decades of a glorious life and service.”
