IUO’s Global Medical Excellence Shines As Dr. Igwilo Emerges Intern Of The Year In US, Joins Hall Of Fame

OKADA — Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) has recorded another remarkable milestone on the global healthcare stage as its alumna, Dr. Ada Igwilo MD, has been honoured as the Intern of the Year for the 2025–2026 Family Medicine Residency Programme in Oregon, United States.

The prestigious recognition, which celebrates outstanding performance in clinical practice, leadership, professionalism, and dedication to patient care, has also earned Dr. Igwilo a place in her hospital’s exclusive Hall of Fame — an honour bestowed on only 10 exceptional residents since the establishment of the programme.

A 2010 Medicine graduate of the Oba Okunade Sijuade College of Health Sciences, Igbinedion University, Okada, Dr. Igwilo’s latest achievement underscores the institution’s growing reputation for producing medical professionals who compete and excel at the highest levels internationally.

Her success represents the continued impact of IUO’s medical education model, which combines rigorous academic training, clinical excellence, ethical values, and a commitment to service.
