The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has rescheduled the unveiling and inauguration of its National Campaign Council (NCC) from Tuesday, October 20, to Monday, October 26, 2026.
The party attributed the postponement to the tight schedule of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who has an important engagement overseas.
The National Publicity Secretary of the NDC, Osa Director, disclosed this in a press statement issued on Monday, October 19, 2026.
According to the statement, the party leadership took the decision following the presidential candidate’s engagement, necessitating a change in the date of the event.
“The NDC Leadership has announced a new date for the unveiling and inauguration of its National Campaign Council (NCC) earlier slated for Tuesday, 20th October, 2026. The event will now be held on Monday, 26th October, 2026,” the statement said.
Director, who apologised for any inconvenience the change might cause party members, supporters and other stakeholders, urged them to remain focused on the party’s electoral objectives ahead of the forthcoming presidential and general elections.
He called on NDC members and supporters to sustain their commitment to the party’s campaign efforts, stressing the importance of working towards victory for Obi and all other candidates contesting elections on the party’s platform.
The inauguration of the National Campaign Council is expected to mark an important step in the NDC’s preparations for the forthcoming elections, as the party works towards organising its campaign structure.
The statement concluded with the party’s rallying slogan: “A New Nigeria is POssible!”
