Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has approved the appointment of a former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel Isenah, as General Manager of the Bayelsa State Housing and Property Development Authority.
The governor also appointed Mr. Kemebradikumo Pere Wariebi as General Manager of the Bayelsa State Water Board.
Mr. Wariebi served as Commissioner for Water Resources in the governor’s first term.
Both appointments take immediate effect.
Rt. Hon. Isenah was a three-term member of the House of Assembly between 2011 and 2023. During the period, he was Deputy Minority Leader, Deputy Majority Leader, Chief Whip of the 5th Assembly before becoming Speaker in the 6th Assembly.
He holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Marketing, all from the Rivers State University of Science & Technology (now Rivers State University), Port Harcourt.
Before joining politics, he lectured briefly at the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic and at the state-owned Niger-Delta University, Amassoma.
Mr. Wariebi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (Biochemistry option) of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (now Rivers State University) as well as a Master of Science in Applied Biochemistry obtained at the University of Calabar, Cross River State.
